I wrote and delivered this persuasive speech in Communications 4H in the spring semester of 2016. The assignment parameters were that students had to write persuasive speeches with a call to action at the end. I chose to write about feminism because there is a lot of misunderstanding and stigma surrounding even just the word, let alone the movement itself. A self proclaimed feminist, I argued that It is beneficial to everyone and that everyone should be a feminist. I received almost no feedback whatsoever about this speech other than that it was well delivered, but my fellow students graded me and my delivery, giving great feedback on how to improve it. If I were to revise the speech, I would cut out more of the unnecessary anecdotes to be a little bit more concise. This speech displays my ability to affectively communicate through both writing and speaking, and gave me a chance to use what I had learned from the essay I wrote on rhetoric.
