A three axis Automated Probe Traverse is used in the Cal Poly Low Speed Wind Tunnel for a variety of aerodynamic analysis. The traverse system was designed as a senior project as one of many recent upgrades to the wind tunnel. The original design planned for the use of a fairing over the z-axis of the traverse, but this piece was neglected in order to ensure completion of the mechanical portion of the project. As a result, the z-axis remains exposed, which causes for vibration and fatigue of some of the mechanical components as well as excessive interference of the airflow. The purpose our mini project will be to design a fairing to be fitted over the z-axis of the traverse to address these problems
