This paper focuses on providing evidence to refute the common misconception that torture is a justifiable way of interrogating another human being. Evidence will be used to prove that torture uses the basis of brutality and emotional scarring to extract false information based on intentional lies or unintentional memory lapse. The use of information from various professors from a variety of universities, like Bates College and University of Pennsylvania, will be combined to show the ineffectiveness of using torture for interrogation and advocate the use of non-abusive techniques.
