The wall poetry group formed out of the Spring 2019 Honors Core II class. The objective of this project was to measure campus community interest in displays of wall poetry --poetry painted on walls in the form of public art -- on the University of West Florida’s Pensacola Main Campus. The wall poetry group was inspired by the city of Leiden, Netherlands’ unique collection of wall poetry. The city has used wall poetry as a way to promote unity in the community. Through this inspiration the wall poetry team wanted to implement that unity on the UWF campus. As a project team, we divided ourselves into four separate groups to be as efficient as possible. The four groups included outreach, fundraising, design, and documentation. I was part of the documentation group. Each group set short and long-term goals to complete by the end of the semester. The main priority of the wall poetry group was to set a foundation for future Core II students to use in order to implement wall poetry within the University of West Florida campus in future years. Me and the other members in the documentation group helped serve towards our objective by creating a document that held helpful information from each group. We accomplished this by recording group meeting, discussing with team leaders, and outlining the common pro's and con's among the groups.
