I led the design and prototype of a Vertical-Axis Wind Turbine (VAWT). This project involved a total of 8 people including myself.
I collaborated with others to design the turbine blades, the main axle structure, the connection between the axle and a 15W generator, and the generator housing. I also created and managed a Dropbox repository for engineering drawings and 3D models that followed a Product Breakdown System (PBS). I used this system to keep track of part numbers, progress, weights, and suppliers.
Additionally, I helped create a spreadsheet with calculations designed to increase the efficiency of the design. These were used to optimize the shape of the blades, the diameter of the turbine, and its overall height.
