The Universal Socket Prosthetic is an affordable, accessible, and customizable solution to hand prosthetics for people of all ages. While most prosthetic hands can cost thousands of dollars, our design allows anyone with access to a 3D printer to create their own prosthetics at a fraction of the cost without sacrificing functionality. The design features a base socket that attaches to the arm, including hexagonal gaps for increased flexibility, breathability, and aesthetic appeal, creating a product that any user can feel comfortable using. With the simple yet effective hex-lock attachment design on the base, the user will be able to switch between different attachments depending on the task they are trying to accomplish within seconds. Whether it be daily tasks such as cooking or brushing your teeth, extracurriculars such as painting or sports, the universal hex design allows for endless possibilities. The affordability and customization especially cater to children. As your child continues to grow, you can easily print a larger prosthetic without having to spend thousands of dollars for a replacement every couple of years. The base socket is fully color and design customizable, so you can create the perfect prosthetic you or your child would want to wear.
