The two artifacts that were chosen for this objective are assignments from NUR 516 (Information Systems and Technology) and deal with ethical and conceptual frameworks within patient care. The first assignment looked at the Nursing Code of Ethics -- specifically the theories of nonmaleficence, beneficence, and autonomy -- and how care providers can utilize those theories and principles to make changes within a care team whenever they are not upheld. The second assignment looked at the legal, ethical, and professional responsibilities of care providers when it comes to managing a patient's personal information, as well as upholding certain nursing theories when managing a patient's personal information. The reason these two assignments were chosen for this objective is because they both directly incorporate nursing theories into patient care in order to establish an ethical framework when it comes to managing personal information and ways to change any deviation from that framework.
