For my Dynamics class project, teams of five students were tasked with mathematically analyzing a fair ride known as "The Inverter."

The first task was to derive the equation of motion for the ride and develop a numerical simulation from rest for the two following cases:
1. Eight passengers are seated symmetrically (four seats in a row) on the platform in the seats closet to its center
2. Eight passengers are seated all on right side as far from the platform
center as possible.
The hand calculations for the derivation can be found at the end of the report.

The second task was to design a torque profile for the motor driving the arm to make it spin at a rate of one revolution every six seconds.

Both of those steps were programmed into MATLAB and the code can be found at the end of the report.
