This group research project was prepared for the AVA40004 and AVA40006 units at Swinburne University of Technology. Entitled 'The Global Landscape of Frequent Flyer Programs', the study ranks a sample of 27 airline frequent flyer programs by region and business model. This was achieved by developing a weighted rating system based on several criteria deemed important to frequent flyer members. Results indicated that legacy carriers had the best frequent flyer programs while low-cost carriers did not invest as much in frequent flyer programs as full-service carriers. The study also highlights methods to improve on future research in this field.
