For my final capstone project at Radford University, I focused on the effects on exposure to ultrasound on the gut microbiota, where I focused on how diagnostic ultrasound may affect the gut microbes though shear number or the diversity of the community. Since ultrasound is very prevalent in our society though mechanical and medical applications, seeing if there are underline biological affects that has not been researched is important to know. It was found that there is no significant change to the number of microbes but the diversity of them was limited. I hope you enjoy.
