For our project, we're trying to bridge the gap between university and home by eliminating the multiple microinstructions needed to find information on the Career Center. We aim to do this through one, simple macrointeraction with Amazon's Alexa via a downloadable skill. Our project will impact mainly the new millennial and Gen Z wave of college students who own an Alexa enabled device or eventually have the Amazon Alexa app on their phones. We will design an Alexa voice skill that will allow users to directly ask a question out loud in the comfort of their home, rather than search the tabs of a website, dredge through old emails, or scroll slowly through an Instagram page. We will use machine learning and deep learning for our project. Our goal with this project is to allow students to learn more about the Career Center programs and services. We are also hoping to incorporate a game lesson into this skill to test the possibilities of using voice assistant technology for teaching and learning in the future.
