This project showcases my MATLAB & Simulink proficiency and research skills
My partner, Steven, and I analyzed different switching frequencies and boost converter configurations in a Photovoltaic (PV) system under different environmental conditions (Temperature and Solar Irradiance) using MATLAB and Simulink. The results were acquired by running the simulation multiple times with different boost converter component values each time. For example, the capacitors had values of 100uF in the first run and had a value of 1000uF in the second run of the simulation. Also the switching frequency of the insulated-gate bipolar transistor (IGBT) was modified to affect the output voltage. I implemented maximum power point tracking (MPPT) using the Perturb and Observe method in the simulation so the PV system operated as efficiently as possible even under changes in temperature and irradiance.
