Within our lab section, we created a mock sumo robot competition that would pit 2 autonomous robots against each other in an encircled arena. The winner emerges when 1 robot pushes the other out of the arena or if the other robot is rendered motionless.
I worked in a team of three to design and build the sumo robot chassis for durability in addition to designing a powertrain for optimizing torque and speed. We also designed and assembled a PCB for interfacing motors, infrared sensors, and ultrasonic sensors. I led the team in programing this board to be compatible with RTOS for automated response to opponent or arena line detection
