As a sophomore, I was teamed with other sophomore engineering students where we were tasked with creating a bicycle for a child with certain capabilities. Our end user wanted to be able to ride a bike by herself; however her mom wanted to be involved with riding the bike as well. Our end user was blind and could only bend her knees to a certain point. My team got together and designed a tandem bicycle where the end user and her mother could ride the bike, as well as, both being able to steer and break for the safety of them both.
