Desalination of Inland Brackish water powered by solar energy is a solution to supplying Southern California with potable water while maintaining a zero carbon footprint. Reverse osmosis technology that utilizes both photo-voltaic panels to power the system and concentrated solar panels to directly heat the brackish solution prior to desalination is a useful way to harness solar energy to produce drinkable water at a higher flow rate while maintaining a steady power consumption.
