Second Sight is a video doorbell that alerts the user or homeowner that a (human) visitor is at the door, then livestreams video of the visitor over the local network to the user site. The system uses sensors connected to the low-power TI-MSP430, along with algorithms to detect whether the visitor detected is in fact human. In the event of a human guest, the MSP430 powers the Raspberry Pi and begins livestreaming video of the visitor to a user website, which has an embedded flash media player, enabling auto-playback.
