My team was tasked with helping people with disabilities to perform a task in an assembly line they were not previously able. We created a product that would help funnel sand into a tape dispenser as a counterweight.
The final product was 3D printed using a PTEG Filament with a Carbon Fiber inlay. We modeled it using SolidWorks. Ansys was then used to perform an FEA analysis of the expected stress under use. When tested, one of DWI’s employees who previously could not do this part of the assembly line completed the task with minimal instruction.
