The main goal of this study is to provide the tools that will allow us to analyze the impact the proposed major coastal roads development project in the city on Mumbai, India.
Analyzing spatio-temporal characteristics of land use change is essential for understanding and assessing ecological consequence of urbanization along the major roads connecting coastal cities. It is therefore a retrospective and prospective analysis with a great potential to become a development planning tool for future infrastructure projects that will therefore consider their impact on the environment and make the necessary adjustments to reduce habitat harm before their start up.
