The focus of this Packaging Development Capstone Course (IT 435) team project was to use the steps of The Design Thinking Process to create an innovative package design for a common household product. After our consumer interviews and observations revealed that there were some flaws in the current disinfecting wipes package design, our team decided to redesign the traditional cylindrical Chlorox Brand package.
Our design process included conducting ethnographic research, team brainstorming sessions, concept generation, prototyping, testing, and refining the final design. In addition to designing the innovative structure of the package, we worked with a Cal Poly Graphic Design team to create the brand image and graphics of "Refresh."
