ANL305 Association and Clustering

This module focused on learning Association Analysis and Clustering applications and algorithms via SPSS. These applications are commonly used in the working world to draw insights from data, especially in the marketing field, which would prove useful to me. Hence, I was more motivated to understand the techniques of these applications and learn how to correctly interpret the results.

One of my career choices was to be a marketing analyst. This module has allowed me to understand the various applications of association and clustering, such as Market Basket analysis, which are vital for the job. With a deeper understanding, I would be able to create the model, interpret and draw applicable insights that the company could use. Examples of the models' results and presentations are attached as excerpts/pictures.

The low score of my individual assignment (70/100) was a good learning lesson as I realised that there were some fundamental mistakes. I have learnt to correct them and improve my understanding of the concepts to prepare for the final exam.

This module was easy as compared to the other applications in SPSS, especially since I have already taken tougher modules of Association and Clustering in another module ANL310. Nevertheless, I learnt more in-depth about the topics in Association Analysis and Clustering, such as new nodes, and developed a greater understanding of both analytical and technical skills. This will ultimately help me in my career.
