• In order to reduce setup time, we implemented use of diamond tool instead of aluminium oxide abrasive sticks.
• In addition to the previous heavy crane, we suggested use of a lighter crane to decrease transportation time and overall process time.
• Adjusted plant layout is to improve the current process, to fine tune the waiting and allocate optimum position to each movable/immovable equipment.
• Thus applied lean principles such as 5S, Kanban, Defined Work Areas, Improvement in material handling, reduction in time required for honing process, reduction in lead time and Muda elimination.
