Class Description

The directness of pencil and charcoal on paper makes them great materials for learning proportion and value. Drawing can seem intimidating, but it is manageable when we break down the process into small steps. Each month we will work from a combination of drawings, old master paintings, photos and/or models. Medici will demo and break down each assignment into clear and consecutive steps with focus on Proportion, Value and Edge. Each week a randomly selected group 3-5 works will be critiqued, the whole class will not be critiqued, but we can learn just as much from any critique. Interest and effort are the only requirements. Practice is the key. Working this way month after month will give you a solid foundation in drawing.
