Class Description:
In this class we will work with both direct and Indirect painting techniques. We will work from a combination of paintings, photos and/or models. Short and long poses help us gain the ability to work with efficiency and precision. Medici will demo and break down the poses into clear and consecutive steps. Since simplicity is one of the goals, we will be using a limited palette and we will focus on 4 main aspects of a portrait: Proportion, Value, Color, and Edge. Each week a randomly selected group 3-5 works will be critiqued, the whole class will not be critiqued. The only requirements are interest and effort. Practice is the key and working this way month after month will give you a solid foundation in painting.
