This report focuses on maternal mortality rates increasing in the United States and the different policies targeted to combat this health crisis. Acting as a staff of Senator Kamala Harris's team, we emphasize how the Maternal CARE Act presents as the most effective policy. As a progressive country, the soaring rates are a cause of concern, especially within African-American women along with those who do not have insurance or are underinsured. Understanding the different inequities within the underserved population is important since it leads to health issues and can be possibly fatal.
