In my COMM 410 - Principles of Communication Research group project, we analyzed Pinterest’s user engagement and retention strategies. The project included a detailed situation analysis and the creation of an online survey to address challenges faced by the platform. My role focused on developing the survey questionnaire and analyzing critical findings about user behaviors, demographics, and barriers to engagement. These findings informed strategic recommendations to enhance user acquisition and retention. For example, I explored how DIY applications and algorithm-driven recommendations contribute to user engagement. This experience gave me practical skills in survey design, data interpretation, and strategic thinking while deepening my understanding of how data-driven insights can guide meaningful solutions.
