The FEAPs addressed in this assignment were FEAP 1.a. – “Aligns instruction with state-adopted standards at the appropriate level of rigor,” FEAP 3.a. – “Deliver engaging and challenging lessons,” FEAP 3.g. – “Apply varied instructional strategies and resources, including appropriate technology, to provide comprehensible instruction, and to teach for student understanding,” and FEAP 4.b. – “Designs & aligns formative & summative assessments that match learning objectives and lead to mastery.”
FEAP 1.a. is the foundation for the lesson plan. Everything presented in the plan is based on what the state standards are. FEAP 3.a. is utilized during the delivery of the lesson. The teacher presenting the information must be engaging and must challenge the students through the use of various activities. FEAP 3.g. is applied by the plan integrating various strategies to support all students such as using graphic organizers, Elkonin boxes, hands-on activities, and modeling/demonstration. FEAP 4.b. is integrated into the lesson by utilizing two types of formative assessments that both back the learning objectives. The first formative assessment activity is by checking each student’s ability to swap phonemes. The second formative assessment activity is an exit ticket. These are just a few of the FEAPs presented in the lesson plan. Each one allows for the educator to comply with the Florida standards when delivering this content to their students.
