I conducted a survey to research correlations between sex and fertility preferences in order to contribute to the discussion of overpopulation on the globe. Throughout published research there are common reoccurring factors mentioned that often led to high fertility rates including, child dependence, lack of family planning, female oppression, and religious restraints. To contribute to the conversation of these high fertility rates I conducted a survey to study the differences in perceptions of the different fertility factors highlighted above. The core factors that are highlighted in the survey include religion, family planning, education, financial status, child dependency, and family size. I took the my research and analysis to the National Conference for Undergraduate Research to present a poster detailing the work.
