The purpose of this objective is to demonstrate clinical excellence by showing culturally appropriate, compassionate, and individualized patient centered care in various diverse settings. I have had the pleasure of completing clinicals in various patient care settings over the past two and a half years, and my artifacts presented demonstrate this. I have chosen to include two artifacts for this objective all of which demonstrate increased knowledge in clinical excellence throughout my various clinical rotations. The first artifact is a care plan I completed for Adult Health I (Artifact 3A). It’s a 45-page care plan, that is very thorough and specialized to this patient’s plan of care. It includes a thorough admitting and primary diagnosis, psychosocial history, past and present medical history, review of systems (subjective and objective), a physical examination, a functional assessment, developmental stage, and primary diagnosis. I was able to conduct this thorough assessment in my second semester of nursing school and set a firm foundation in my clinical judgement. (Artifact 3B) is an assignment I completed in my last semester of nursing school in the Emergency Department. I was able to complete a detailed health history of a patient that presented to the ED. I was able to use my critical thinking skills, and clinical judgment to gather a complete health history precisely.
