Professional values and behaviors go far beyond my original beliefs of just showing up early and working as hard as I could, whatever task I set myself upon. While these are important traits, I discovered it is important to go above and beyond to exemplify ethical care for patients in every aspect of my life. I demonstrated this in artifact 5A by exploring the ethical issue of fetal alcohol syndrome and the position statement set forth by JOGNN. This assignment helped me realize that many problems I had originally viewed as simple are often complex in nature and require a multifaceted approach in order to generate solutions. Artifact 5B showcases my continued dedication to documentation of my professional growth and competency in my Nursing Care of the Child Rearing Family clinical evaluation. I demonstrated my motivation to learn, increased psychomotor performance, accountability, and adherence to the nursing standards of care during my clinical experience at a variety of clinical sites.
