🩺 Basic Eligibility:
- Hold a valid and active California Registered Nurse (RN) license.
- Complete a graduate degree program in nursing (MSN, DNP, or post-master’s certificate) focused on NP training.

🎓 Education Requirements
- Graduate from a Board of Registered Nursing (BRN)-approved NP program.
- Program must include both clinical training and advanced practice coursework (pathophysiology, pharmacology, and physical assessment).

📄 Certification Requirement
- Obtain national certification from a BRN-recognized certifying body (e.g., AANP, ANCC) in your specialty area (e.g., FNP, PMHNP, PNP).

📝 Application Process
- Submit an NP Application to the California Board of Registered Nursing (BRN).
Includes:
Proof of RN licensure
Proof of advanced practice education
Proof of national certification
Official transcripts
Application fee

💊 Furnishing Number (for prescribing medications)
- Complete California BRN-approved pharmacology coursework (minimum 3 semester units or 45 contact hours).
- Apply for a Furnishing Number through the BRN to prescribe medications.
- Register for a DEA number if prescribing controlled substances.
