Navy Instructor Training Course
NITC is a mandatory three-week course for all military personnel who want to become Navy Instructors. It is a 72 lesson course taught by specially selected Instructors, to essentially 'Train the Trainers.' It includes instructor-led training (ILT), computer based training (CBT), interactive digital games, multimedia videos, group discussions, timed activities, role-playing scanerios and other activities and issues related to military life, as well as any customized elements added by the Instructor.
Together, in a little under two years, a team of over 60 individuals working together in multiple cross-functional teams, designed, developed and delivered this 3 week, 72 lesson course, and NITC is currently being used Navy-wide for it's intended purpose.
Course Description:
-Basically everthing digital for this product.
-A majority of the programming also.
-UI, general look and feel of course, CBT interfaces for interactive cCBT and games,
-UX, created and led focus groups, instructor-led trainign sessions, group discussions on graphic, phot usage, worked with SMEs, research on student bahaviors, adult leanring theories, gaming, etc. and implemented everything into the courseware, information architecture of lesson oders, topics order, etc. Also created posters to be hug in classroom and such.
- IxD, games, interactive CBT and ILT elements, drag & drops, multiple choice, programming and naimation in FLash to achieve these things, etc.
-Content, photo selection with SME approval, QA of photos, content, writing, editing, etc., work with military oersonnel on QA, etc.
-Graphics
-Programs Used: Adobe CS, Illustrator, Photoshop, Flash, ActionScript, HTML/CSS, custom LMS, large-scale printers, mounters and laminatoirs,
-ISDs, SMEs, Graphics (me), programming (me), animation (me), gaming (me + ISD), instructional design, graphic design (me), UX (me and ISDs and SMEs), UI, (me and ISD), - flows, topics, material/content, visuals (photos, colors, look/feel, etc).
-instructional design, adult learning theories, as well as interactive elements to increase interest and engagement from students. etc.
