Leopard shark populations in the Bay Area, while stable, tend to experience fluctuations due to weather patterns, water quality, and over-fishing. I will be working with over 50 years of data gathered by the Marine Science Institute to study the natural history of leopard sharks in the South Bay, along with studying incidents that affected the leopard shark population, such as die-off events.
