Despite my lack of love for art, Bob Ross is my favorite artist, mainly because of how happy he is in his TV show. All of his paintings are amazing in my opinion, but this one, in particular, has captured my undivided attention. The use of cool blues and greens and a reflective warm yellow makes the light from the setting (or rising) sun flow with the rest of the painting. The glassy river reflects the plant life on the banks, all while leading the eye up to a magnificent mountain. I believe the concept of the work was to show how peaceful and beautiful nature truly is. The only thing that seems to inform the content is the formal elements I talked about because they make then entire painting look clean and smooth.
