Microplastics are a source of plastic pollution that easily passes through many water filtration systems and end up in bodies of water, such as the San Francisco Bay. I measured microplastic concentrations in Belmont Creek, a stream that drains out into the San Francisco Bay, to see the concentrations of microplastics being pushed out into the ecosystem.
