Our project assignment was to interview people who have been to third world villages, research village needs, assess what electrical components might be beneficial to the people, and to balance the loads from the components being run with a three phase AC generator. To balance the loads we are using capacitor banks, relays, and an Arduino Mega. Our analysis includes three distinct times of day with varying loads. The circuit is also designed to correct the power factor of the village for each time of day to get a power factor of 95% or better and load balancing to keep the current draw from each phase within 5% of the others.
