Hardware Design Co-Op Student for Handheld Surgical Robotics
MIT Lincoln Laboratory (06/2022 – 12/2022)
- Collaborated with a cross-disciplinary team of engineers, scientists, and clinicians to
design and develop hardware for a handheld surgical robot, supporting life-saving
interventions.
- Designed, prototyped, and integrated mechanical solutions to enhance the robot's
functionality and performance.
- Utilized SolidWorks and additive manufacturing (SLA and FDM 3D printing) to create
and test new robotic features.
- Drafted and submitted an invention disclosure for novel features developed during
the Co-Op.
- Conducted thermal and vibration testing (thermal chambers, shaker tables) to
validate hardware performance under real-world conditions.
- Maintained secret security clearance throughout the duration of the Co-Op.
