I took UBCx on edX where I learned about Silicon photonics. It was a 3-month online course from the University of British Columbia where I learned how to use various device modeling software such as Klayout Viewer, Lumerical MODE, and Interconnect to create several independent designs of a Mach-Zehnder Interferometer devices.
I designed a layout of 9 TE MZI devices based in using Lumerical and Klayout
My design passed the design rules and manufactured at the Nanofabrication Facility at the University of Washington. The devices were then measured at UBC and send to the class for data analysis.
I used Matlab for measurement data analysis such as Corner Analysis and FSR to compare stimulation values to the experimental values where they matched closely.
