Pick of the Week
For my year long senior design project, I worked with five other students to develop a biomimetic chest cavity in order to reduce the injury to donor lungs during transportation. This involved surface modeling based off of CT scans, performing optimizations in Matlab, controlling linear actuators, custom molding silicone for flexible seals, designing and manufacturing a three flange system, and validating with pig lungs.
