The Literacy Learning Cycle highlights the cyclical nature of analysing, developing, practicing and embedding literacy learning into every aspect of education.
Analysis gathers evidence to inform both benchmarks and future directions for teaching and learning sequences.
Support allows students to receive tailored case study support to promote achievement through differentiation and explicit teaching.
Extend pushes high achieving students, preparing them for academic, critical and creative communication in all subjects. Practice refers to the continual transition of learning from surface to deep to transfer. It is also part of both the support and extend elements, as this sequence of learning exists in both differentiated areas. Embed is a whole encompassing concept that includes professional learning, cross curricular learning connections and the learning environment.
