The Academic Success Program (ASP) was developed to assist JMU students in academic probation status. ASP helps students use academic strategies to be successful at JMU. Skills gathered from this program were practical for students' academic success. ASP also supported a mission of helping students become educated and enlightened citizens who will lead productive and meaningful lives after graduation.

I was one of the individuals selected to be part of the ASP Program. As a peer instructor, I taught a class of 20+ students on academic probation ways to enhance their analytical and critical course work strategies. Additionally, I provided weekly in-person and online office hours to assist students with their academic skills. I also utilized strong interpersonal skills to support students achieve their long-term goals.

This was my first experience teaching a class. Being a peer instructor allowed me to analyze each person's strengths and weaknesses. I taught students how to use their skillsets to their advantage. I helped individuals find their "why" at JMU.

Furthermore, I plan to implement the analysis skills I learned through teaching into the real workforce after I graduate from college.
