Catheter-Associated Urinary Tract Infections or CAUTI is a hospital-acquired infection commonly caused by Pseudomonas Aeruginosa. Previous research has shown that a number of genes are responsible for the overexpression of P. aeruginosa in urine. This project focuses on the gap A gene in P. Aeruginosa and our findings on how it assists the resistance to treatments. This project helped develop my research skills that are applicable to future pursuits in my academic career.
