Being an assurance intern at EY, I gained insights to what it is like to work in the audit and accounting industry. This internship has provided me the opportunity to test my knowledge gained in school while developing my professional aptitude and strengthening my character. It was truly an enriching experience as I got to professionally interact with different clients from various organizational levels in the technology, media and telecommunications industry. During the peak season, I was trained to work under pressure and to always anticipate change as we have to be able detect any inaccuracies and respond effectively to the stakeholder needs and deliver our promises within the given time frame. I learnt that teamwork was crucial and I have to be a good team player to effectively communicate with my colleagues to have better synergy when it comes to problem solving. At EY, we were equipped with the right mindsets and skills which helps nurture us into the next generation transformative leaders, building a better working world which is EY's motto. One of my biggest takeaway would be also be the valuable new long-term friendships and connections which I had forged with my colleagues and intern peers over at EY.
