I have drawn this artwork -- titled "I'm Blooming" -- using colored pencil on regular white paper. While the person portrayed in the drawing is not myself, it is supposed to be reflective of each person's "self-portrait." As a first-year at CSUN, the hybrid year has taught me a lot but has also given lots of opportunities to "bloom," hence the flowers on the model's face.

Studying from home, I was able to manage my time more effectively and figure out how to find comfort in the transition from high school to university. CSUN has presented me with so many fun and interesting programs, opportunities, events and clubs that, although online, they let me explore areas of my enjoyment. Now being in-person, this experience has heightened, and I am able to bloom even more. Choosing CSUN was the best decision ever! As this year closes I have definitely sprouted and found the ground to place my roots in for now. I will continue to grow and bloom in the Matador community until I graduate!
