I completed a Harvard edX course with partnership from the Institute for Healthcare Improvement (IHI) on Practical Improvement Science in Health Care in March 2016.

This course was a massive open online course (MOOC), with over 10,000 students all across the globe, studying together on a 6-week regimen to improve a targeted area in each of our lives. The course was taught by Professor and IHI Chief Officer Don Goldmann, MD., as well as a team of other highly respected executive directors and research associates at Harvard University and the IHI.

During these 6 weeks, I learned about Improvement Science, such as planning, modeling, and executing tasks for optimum success. In this case, it was related to Health Care, but by no means was I required to be an employee in the Health Care industry to participate. I learned about Run Charts, Driver and Flow Diagrams, designing Reliability Systems, the Three Faces of Measurement, and last but not least, PDSA cycles.
I had completed my own short term project, focusing on punctuality and not being late as that had been a reoccurring issue for me in the past. I used this course as an important to learn from my mistakes and correct them, while using fundamental science and research analysis tools to back it up.

This course was a wonderful educational opportunity to improve myself and learn about how to conduct Improvement Science in my future career - pursuing in Organizational Psychology - and how to apply these methods to the workforce. I am 100% planning on taking future open courses with Harvard's online edX system and advancing my education in various subjects of my choosing.Harvard edX
