Personal project build– MIG welding and producer
Devised an eco-friendly hybrid electric bicycle capable of reaching 28 mph and a range of 5 miles.
Achieved a 3 mile per school day for 2-year substitute of car transport, estimated in $200 in gas savings.
Also designed a custom automatic A-frame kickstand to imitate old school motorbikes styles and lift the rear wheel for testing and balanced upright storage.
I really enjoyed this project because it is one that I readily used every day to commute to and from middle school back home as a result of creating a personal mobility alternative that is exciting with its high-speed convenience, storage options, eco-friendly electric, and hybrid because you can pedal like a regular bike for exercise.
The photos are taken recently after years in storage so it is dirty. It still turns on but the lead-acid battery chemistry has diminished and warrants an upgrade to a lithium battery pack and re-evaluation for mechanical efficiency for a future project to work on with my little brother perhaps.
