The assignment is to identify green operating activities that will reduce resource use, while assuring guest and staff comfort, for the entire major operating systems of the hotel/resort. Discuss how your project design incorporates design factors, building materials, furniture fixtures & equipment as well as wall coverings, flooring and floor covering and other interior products and materials. Food and beverage must also address ways in which you will reflect environmental management in the food and beverage operations.

The project will identify how the hotel/resort will impact the surrounding community in the areas of energy and water use as well as waste-trash and sewerage. The project will identify how the property, its’ activities and guests will impact the surrounding environment, depending on the nature of your recreational activities. Identify ways in which the property team will contribute to efforts in the community to reduce the impact of the property and help to support environmental programs for the community.

All teams are required to write a paper in a length of 8-10 pages, including a bibliography and citations page. Make sure to document all of your sources and site them in the body of the paper. Failure to credit the source is plagiarism and will result in receiving a failing grade (F) for the course.

The paper format will follow the standard APA research paper requirements (see purdue.edu-go to online writing lab (OWL) for information on APA format). Proof your paper for typographical and spelling errors as this severely detracts from the content of the paper.

Pages must be numbered; the page starting with the Introduction is page 1.  The paper should include a Title Page with title of project and all team members’ names (with Panther ID for each student in the team) and the date.  Following the Title Page is the Table of Contents. The paper then begins with the Introduction, followed by the Body of the Paper, followed by the Conclusion, followed by the Bibliography/citations (Page number ends) and others if applicable.

The main content of the paper (including the Introduction, Body of paper and Conclusion) should be 5-6 pages at least, which is approximately 1,500 words according to the APA standard. Papers with less than 500 words in the main content will not be accepted and will receive a “Zero” for the project assignment.
Type the paper for submission on your presentation day (see the Syllabus). NO PAPERS WILL BE ACCEPTED IN DELAY FOR ANY REASON (S). Papers submitted from other classes will receive no credit.

In addition, all teams are required to email ONE copy of the paper to the Professor prior to the deadline. No later submission accepted. It is the students’ responsibility to keep the hard copy of the paper in accordance with the emailed electronic version. Failure to do so maybe considered as cheating and will result in receiving an F for the course.

PROJECT PAPER IS A COURSE REQUIREMENT. FAILURE TO ACCOMPLISH WILL RESULT IN A FAILING GRADE IN THIS COURSE.
