There were two parts to this project. The first part was to design and build a prototype wind turbine to be tested in the wind tunnel at GFU. The prototype was able to produce 5.2 V. I helped to design the base that the turbine was attached to, and I helped to construct the prototype. The second part of this project was to write a report discussing a theoretical design of a full scale wind turbine to power GFU. We decided to focus our wind turbine's power to the 17 residential campus houses for students. In the end, the wind turbine was decided to not be worth it to construct a full-scale wind turbine at George Fox University due to the low wind average over the year.
