I designed and built an oscillating air engine to compete in the max torque category. The engine could not cost more than $33 and it had to run at 15 psi. Over the course of the project I had to come up with all of the dimensions from scratch, hand draw the design, create a Bill of Materials, solid model the design in Solid-works, create Excel spreadsheets with different equations specific to oscillating air engines, and hand make the engine in a machine shop using a band saw, mill, and lathe. During the fabrication of the air engine I worked with a partner.
