A secondary project at the Indian Institute of Science involved developing a light-weight UAV for remotely monitoring traffic at congested areas in Bangalore, India. A flying wing design ensured efficient performance to maximize endurance. For achieving a high strength to weight ratio, the project involved working with different type of fiber composites for a monocoque design so as to maximize the internal volume for different payload modules and sub-systems.
