This project was an extra credit opportunity for a fluid mechanics lecture. My partner and I developed a fluid mechanics demonstration from which data could be obtained and compared to theory. Our apparatus measured buoyant force on an object as it was gradually submerged under water. Using uncertainty analysis and critical thinking, we were able to determine flaws in our original design, which we were able to communicate to our instructor. Our apparatus is now likely to be used as a demonstration or outreach activity in subsequent classes by the instructor.
